We built the support system we always wanted as store operators.

WM Tech Solutions started because the founders ran ecommerce stores and watched support teams spend 70% of their time on tickets that never needed a human in the first place.

The global ecommerce returns problem costs merchants over $100 billion a year. Most of it is preventable — not through better products, but through faster, more consistent handling of the tickets that follow.

WM Tech was founded in early 2026 by ecommerce operators who had personally run high-volume Shopify stores. They experienced firsthand what it looked like when a payment fraud wave hit, when a returns backlog spiraled, and when a six-person support team spent an entire week answering tracking queries that a well-configured AI could handle in a second.

The AI tools available at the time were either too generic, too expensive, or required an engineering team to set up. So they built their own — and other store owners started asking to use it too.

Since launching in early 2026, WM Tech has onboarded 40+ Shopify and WooCommerce stores, processing tens of thousands of support interactions every day. Every decision the AI makes is auditable, overridable, and logged — because we believe automation should create transparency, not remove it.

Founded in San Francisco
Will and Maya incorporated WM Tech Solutions as a Delaware C-Corp and began building the first version of the AI return approval engine, initially just for their own Shopify stores.
Feb '26
First 10 beta stores go live
After weeks of internal use across their own stores, WM Tech opened a private beta. The first 10 Shopify stores processed their AI-handled returns, hitting a 91% satisfaction rate in week one.
Mar '26
AI Chat & Payment Fraud modules launched
Expanded beyond returns into AI chat automation and payment fraud scoring — the two problems beta customers asked for most. The WooCommerce plugin shipped alongside the Shopify app.
Apr '26
Public launch & v1.0 platform release
Launched publicly to #2 Product of the Day on Product Hunt. The v1.0 release introduced the multi-store dashboard, ticket summarization, and the Zapier and Make connector ecosystem.
Jun '26
40+ stores onboarded
Crossed 40 onboarded Shopify and WooCommerce stores, processing tens of thousands of support interactions per day. Custom fine-tuned models for Enterprise customers entered general availability.
