WM Tech was founded in early 2026 by ecommerce operators who had personally run high-volume Shopify stores. They experienced firsthand what it looked like when a payment fraud wave hit, when a returns backlog spiraled, and when a six-person support team spent an entire week answering tracking queries that a well-configured AI could handle in a second.
The AI tools available at the time were either too generic, too expensive, or required an engineering team to set up. So they built their own — and other store owners started asking to use it too.
